The Smart City
We will set up industries that will add value to most products or goods produced in Africa and have refineries that will refine most of African minerals before they leave the shores of the continent. The AfCFTA City companies will seek to control the various trade and commerce within the continent. The AfCFTA city companies will also control most of the logistics requirements to ensure smooth movement of goods within the continent and the rest of the world.
It is our hope that, with the partnership of the AfCFTA Secretariat and AU, Africa should ensure that within the next 10years, Africa should be able to procure 80% of its import needs from within. Thus, companies supplying most of the Africa import needs should either set up their plants in Africa or have huge warehouses within the AfCFTA City or its zonal sites to serve Africa. This is the only way to reduce our import bills and save our currencies from continuous depreciations.
The Smart Location
The AfCFTA Smart City is expected to be about 2000 square miles expected to be extended to 5000 square miles within 10years of operation. It is also expected to be located between the Bono East and the northern regions for strategic reasons. This is to ensure that 3 regions benefit directly from the siting of the AfCFTA City in that location. In addition, the location is near a source of water that will ensure that there is no scarcity of water to feed the City.
